The American sports fan was once shaped to rigid principles: all games were to be watched but never wagered on and all events were to be enjoyed but never experienced. Thrills were tame and excitement was secondhand. Slowly, however, the philosophy changed—individuals discovered the ease of sharing bets with their friends, of tossing dollars into a collective pool. Profits made athletics interesting; and the need for an easy access to point spreads became obvious.

The online world has forever been a convenience, and now it is being shaped to probabilities. Cool Gadget: Moshi Alarm Clock

Everyone hates to get out of bed in the morning. This is made especially hard when the alarm starts blaring and you would just like to have a few more minutes under the nice warm covers. Now with the invention of one of the coolest gadgets you might just be able to spend those extra five minutes in bed and not have to get up to turn the alarm clock off.

The alarm clock known as Moshi IVR alarm clock is the only voice activated alarm clock on the market today. The way it works is that those that purchase it will train the alarm clock to recognize their voice or the voice of others. Once it understands the voice and words it will then wait to hear the command words Hello Moshi. This will start to work automatically when those words are uttered by an individual.

Some of the amazing things that Moshi will be able to tell you with just a simple voice command include the ability to read you today’s date, the current temperature, the time, the alarm set time. Moshi can also be automatically turned off with command prompts or allowed to be put on a snooze cycle and in a really unique feature Moshi has a nightlight that can be turned on and off with just a simple command.

Ideally the Moshi alarm clock was invented with the idea that it would help those that are disabled or blind. It would provide an alarm clock that didn’t need to be set by hand and would be easily accessible for those with mobility issues.

Technology is really improving the way that we live our lives. Now with the invention of the Moshi alarm clock you’ll be able to get those few extra minutes of sleep in the morning because there is no loud blaring alarm clock. You’ll just have to be careful that you don’t oversleep or tell the alarm clock to shut off in the middle of the night while you sleep talk.

Using The Internet To Get Into Public Office

If you are thinking about running for local office you have to know that these days things are a lot different than before. Getting on the ballot and into public office is different in it’s process than it was when they were running before the Internet age. It’s something that politicians are taking notice of these days and it’s helping them to find their way into their office and the office of the higher officials they are replacing. It’s not just about who’s got the best message, but rather who can use the cyber world to their advantage the best.

First of all, getting on the ballot, and knowing if you qualify is much easier than it used to be. You used to have to go down to city hall. In this day and age you can just get on line to your local government office and it will lay out everything that you need to do in order to get on the ballot. This is a great time saver.

Once you are on the ballot you can do anything you have to within the limits of the election process in order to get elected. For instance you can start a mailing list that you can email your supporters with information about what they need to do to help you get into office. This is a great way to get mass communication and get into people’s ears.

This is also a great place to work on strategy. It’s important to have a game plan, especially on election day. You can map out routes that you will be doing on that day as well as get projected areas that you will need to campaign in on that day so that there will be a chance for you to snag those extra votes. It’s important that you take the time to use the internet to you full advantage and get into public office.

Save Money When Moving

Moving to a new home can be a huge expense. There are a host of costs related to relocating, so any money you save on the move itself will come in handy. This doesn’t mean that you have to move yourself though; there are several ways to save even if you employ professionals.

Moving costs are usually set by the pound. The company will estimate the weight of everything that you have to transfer to your new location and charge you accordingly, but there is room for negotiation. Get moving quotes from several different companies because the price can vary considerably. For example, if a moving company has another truckload going to the same city you are transferring to they might be able to combine the trips and save you money.

You can also save money when using professionals if you box up your stuff yourself. A large portion of the cost of moving expenses is packing everything for the move. If you complete organizing and packing in advance you could cut the total cost of your move in half. By the same token, if you unpack boxes yourself when they are dropped off at your new location, you can cut the costs.

There are other ways to save money on your move even if you use full service movers. If you are moving to a new city for a job, try and negotiate the cost of the move into the terms of your new employment contract. Many companies will pick up some of the expenses related to moving, and while it may not cover all of the costs it will certainly help. You can also deduct the expenses related to a move from your federal income tax return for the year. There is no limit on the amount of the deduction, which can create considerable tax savings. Use I.R.S. Form 3903 to do so.

Internet Democracy: Freedom to Search

Democracy is significant to the people who live in countries where it’s practiced.  For many, democracy means having great Los Angeles apartments. To others who’ve never had it as a part of their lives, it might not mean as much – or they may long for it and what they think it means and involves. The Internet is very serious about democracy, and serious about people’s rights to search for, find, and read the kinds of things that interest them, not just what they’re ‘allowed’ to see especially finding great Los Angeles apartments. In some countries, there are parts of the Internet that are blocked because the government doesn’t want its citizens to see them, but democratic countries don’t operate that way. They leave everything open for the people to judge.

Don’t Governments Hide Anything?

Of course, governments have secrets they have to protect. That’s standard procedure, but it doesn’t mean that there aren’t any sites or areas online where you can get access to important information about the government and all kinds of other things. You can find great fiction, read full-length books and locate articles on all kinds of things you might have an interest in.
